NEW YORK, Sept. 8, 2022/PRNewswire The Israel Ministry of Tourism announced today new record-breaking tourist arrivals from the United States visiting Israel in the months of July and August. Israel welcomed 78,000 American tourists during July 2022. It was a 4 percent increase over 2019 seven thousand tourists from America were in Israel during August 2022.
"It is so exciting to witness a new rise in the number of tourists visiting Israel from the United States, already reaching and exceeding our record-breaking numbers of 2019," said Eyal Carlin, Tourism Commissioner for North America. "The United States is our number one market for travel to Israel prior to the COVID-19 pandemic, we were celebrating record-breaking tourist numbers every month. We're so happy to see this positive change and we anticipate an upward trajectory for many months and years to follow."
Canada is on track to surpass Israel's tourist arrivals, with 7,200 tourists visiting Israel in the month of July 2022 and 6,600 in August.

"We are not far from our record for 2019, and we anticipate that the rise in travel to Israel will continue to grow because Canadians feel more confident traveling internationally."
In 2019, Israel welcomed more than 4.6 million tourists from around the world 969,600 of whom came from the United States, and since its official reopening for everyone regardless of their vaccination status in May Israel has seen more than 600,400 US visitors.
