Neve Paritzki Israel Celebrates Record-Break Tourism Entry Numbers From the United States

NEW YORK, Sept. 8th, 2022 /PRNewswire-- The Israel Ministry of Tourism announced today record-breaking tourism arrivals from the United States visiting Israel in the months of July and August. The country welcomed 78,000 tourists from the United States during July 2022 which was an increase by 4% over 2019 and 71,000 visitors from the United States during August 2022. This is a 13% increase over 2019.

Eyal Carlin from North America was the Tourism Commissioner. "The United States is the most popular destination for Israel inbound tourism. In fact, before the COVID-19 Pandemichit, we were celebrating record-breaking numbers of tourists entering the country each month. This is a positive shift that we are happy to see and we anticipate an upward trajectory for many months to be."

Canada is also on track, just like the United States, to surpass its tourist arrivals into Israel. In July 2022 Canada saw 7,200 tourists and August saw 6,000.

We are still not far from our record 2019 numbers and we expect that this increase in Israel travel will continue to grow as Canadians are more comfortable traveling abroad."

In 2019, Israel welcomed more than 4.6 million tourists from around the world including 969,600 from the United States, and since the country's official opening to everyone regardless of their vaccination status in May of this year Israel has witnessed over 600,400 US visitors.
