Neve Paritzki Israel Celebrates Record-Break Tourism Entry The Numbers Come from the United States

NEW YORK, Sept. 8th, 2022 /PRNewswire-- The Israel Ministry of Tourism announced today record-breaking numbers of tourists from the United States visiting Israel in the months of July and August. 78,000 visitors from the United States visited Israel in July 2022. This represents a 4 percent increase over the year before and 71,000 tourists from the United States in august 2022. This is 13% more than 2019.

"The United States remains our biggest market for tourism to Israel. Prior to the outbreak of COVID-19, we were celebrating record-breaking tourism numbers each month. We are delighted to see this positive shift and expect an ongoing upward trend for months and even years.

Canada is set to beat Israel's tourism arrivals by attracting 7,200 tourists to Israel in July 2022, and 6,600 in August.

Gal Hana is the Consul and Director for Canada within the Israel Ministry of Tourism. "We are not far from our record for 2019 and we expect that the growth in travels to Israel will continue to grow because Canadians feel more confident traveling abroad."

In 2019, Israel welcomed more than 4.6 million tourists from around the world including 969,600 from the United States, and since its official reopening for any traveler regardless of vaccination status in May, the country has already seen more than 600,400 US tourists.
